First, find out what isn't true…

The Guardian’s “Comments are Free” says “Facts are Sacred”. Lies remain. Facts are purged.

I recently came across this post by Keo2008 on CiF. It is rife with blatant lies. My reply to it, giving the facts of the matter was purged in the process of silencing Talknic (aka inreferenceto). Now, only the lies remain, spreading like filth from an overflowing sewer.

Keo2008 28 Sep 09, 9:54am

” what the Palestinians/Arabs were asking for in 1947-8.

1) They refused to talk to UNSCOP, so they actually refused to make their case to the UN body they knew would be making recommendations to the UN. If their proposals were reasonable, as you imply, whyb did they throw away the chance to influence the UN vote?.”

Interested to see if they did try to influence the vote, I went first where the facts should surely be truly represented. On the Israeli Government website.

There we find what the Israeli Government puts up as the Recording of UN vote on Resolution 181 – 29 November 1947. The only Arab state included on their version of the recording is Yemen (against).

It seemed a little short for an UNGA vote. So I then cross referenced this information with another reliable source of documents, Avalon Law at Yale University UNGA Resolution 181. Which clearly states, at the bottom of the document:

Adopted at the 128th plenary meeting: In favour: 33 – Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Byelorussian S.S.R., Canada, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, Haiti, Iceland, Liberia, Luxemburg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Sweden, Ukrainian S.S.R., Union of South Africa, U.S.A., U.S.S.R., Uruguay, Venezuela.

Against: 13 – Afghanistan, Cuba, Egypt, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Yemen.

Abstained: 10 Argentina, Chile, China, Colombia, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Honduras, Mexico, United Kingdom, Yugoslavia.

The Israeli Government web site have edited out the majority of the votes from their ‘record’ing. Is it any wonder people like our friend Keo2008 spread mis-information, when this is what they’re fed.

Snr Keo2008’s post went on:

Keo2008 28 Sep 09, 9:54am

2) Because of course their proposals were not reasonable at all. They demanded a Single-state solution in which all Palestinians would have the vote, but only those Jews who could prove they (orn their ancestors) were living in Palestine before 1918. That was of course a tiny minority of the Jews in Palestine. The other Jews would be deemed as stateless and liable to be expelled

3) By contrast all Arabs living in Palestine in 1947 would get the vote- even though many of them had only moved into Palestine a few years before.

That is the reality of the Palestinian position in 1947. No wonder the Zionists rejected it. No wonder the UN rejected it. And no wonder the Palestinians didnt even dare put their case to the UN.

Smelling rat by now, I looked up their demands, again from Avalon Law at Yale University. The Pact of the League of Arab States, March 22, 1945. In particular what they had to say about Palestine

ANNEX ON PALESTINE
At the end of the last Great War, Palestine, together with the other Arab States, was separated from the Ottoman Empire. She became independent, not belonging to any other State.

The Treaty of Lausanne (4) proclaimed that her fate should be decided by the parties concerned in Palestine.

Even though Palestine was not able to control her own destiny, it was on the basis of the recognition of her independence that the Covenant of the League of Nations determined a system of government for her.(5)

Her existence and her independence among the nations can, therefore, no more be questioned de jure than the independence of any of the other Arab States.

Even though the outward signs of this independence have remained veiled as a result of force majeure, it is not fitting that this should be an obstacle to the participation of Palestine in the work of the League.

Therefore, the States signatory to the Pact of the Arab League consider that in view of Palestine’s special circumstances, the Council of the League should designate an Arab delegate from Palestine to participate in its work until this country enjoys actual independence.

(4) Here, we need to see The Treaty of Lausanne For which I use the Brigham Young University Library, where we find

The Treaty of Lausanne. SECTION II . NATIONALITY. ARTICLE 30.
Turkish subjects habitually resident in territory which in accordance with the provisions of the present Treaty is detached from Turkey will become ipsofacto, in the conditions laid down by the local law, nationals of the State to which such territory is transferred.

We also find a map a map Which shows us very clearly an area marked PALESTINE. A territory not TRANSFERRED to any state.

So again, the Arab States have only expressed what is in the actual treaty. (the British Mandate over Palestine was an administrative role (occupation). Palestine was not ‘transferred’ to Britain)

Onwards to note (5) and art. 22 of the League of Nations Covenant

(5) See art. 22 of the Covenant and accompanying notes printed in Foreign Relations of the United States: The Paris Peace Conference, 1919, vol. XIII, pp.

The Covenant of the League of Nations
ARTICLE 22.
To those colonies and territories which as a consequence of the late war have ceased to be under the sovereignty of the States which formerly governed them and which are inhabited by peoples not yet able to stand by themselves under the strenuous conditions of the modern world, there should be applied the principle that the well-being and development of such peoples form a sacred trust of civilisation and that securities for the performance of this trust should be embodied in this Covenant.

The best method of giving practical effect to this principle is that the tutelage of such peoples should be entrusted to advanced nations who by reason of their resources, their experience or their geographical position can best undertake this responsibility, and who are willing to accept it, and that this tutelage should be exercised by them as Mandatories on behalf of the League.

The character of the mandate must differ according to the stage of the development of the people, the geographical situation of the territory, its economic conditions and other similar circumstances.

Certain communities formerly belonging to the Turkish Empire have reached a stage of development where their existence as independent nations can be provisionally recognized subject to the rendering of administrative advice and assistance by a Mandatory until such time as they are able to stand alone. The wishes of these communities must be a principal consideration in the selection of the Mandatory.

Thus far, the Arab States have only re-iterated the League of Nations Covenant, which by any standard of decency, are honorable and noble aspirations and also The Treaty of Lausanne, which does indeed show that a clearly defined Palestine, was never transferred to any State.

In order to cross reference this with their intentions in 1948, we need to read the Arab League Declaration on the Invasion of Palestine May 15, 1948, for which I used the Jewish Virtual Library.

Arab League Declaration on the Invasion of Palestine May 15, 1948

The Governments of the Arab States emphasise, on this occasion, what they have already declared before the London Conference and the United Nations, that the only solution of the Palestine problem is the establishment of a unitary Palestinian State, in accordance with democratic principles, whereby its inhabitants will enjoy complete equality before the law, [and whereby] minorities will be assured of all the guarantees recognised in democratic constitutional countries, and [whereby] the holy places will be preserved and the right of access thereto guaranteed.

Snr Keo2008, you’re full of shite! Not only did the Arab States reflect the worthy aspirations of the League of Nations Covenant, they also guarantee to uphold it. Not only were they correct in asserting that Palestine was never transfered to any State, but they guaranteed to protect it and all it’s inhabitants, offering them democracy and freedom of religion.
The complete opposite of the lies allowed to remain, where Facts are Sacred!

The Ziofier strikes unsuspecting Presidents, politicians, journalists, public contamination at all an time high.

‘Israeli’s’ become ‘Jews’, ‘the regime’ becomes ‘Israel’. ‘Jerusalem’ becomes ‘Israel’, (even though it’s not even in Israel). Quite incredible. The Ziofier can make people become conflationists at the drop of a cliche.

Even such luminaries as Edie Weisel are not immune from the dreaded Ziofier !

The Ziofier strikes across the board, rendering it’s victims unable to access important documents readily available to anyone with an internet connection.

If they have by chance actually ever read these documents, the Ziofier will immediately infiltrate that part of their memory bank and either wipe it completely or implant words with the opposite meaning. ‘delared’ becomes ‘covert’, ‘revealed’ becomes ‘hidden’ or ‘secret’. You can see the Ziofier at it’s best when it goes to work on UNSC Resolution 242 ‘acknowledgement of boundaries’ instantly becomes ‘negotiate borders’. Quite miraculous!!

The Ziofier is especially good with the UN Charter, UNSC resolutions, International Law, Geneva Conventions, the responsibilities of States, Declarations of Sovereignty, declared borders and the opinions of the International Court of Justice, wiping them completely off the map!

The Ziofier has altered 62 years of illegal acquisition of territory by war, illegal annexation, illegally instituting a foreign entity’s Civil Law in an Occupied Territory and the ignoring of 223 UNSC resolutions, into: “a peace loving neighbour”

The Ziofier has magically changed armistice lines into borders, where there were never borders before the armistice, altered the Balfour Declaration, the British White Papers of 1920 and 1939, UNSC Resolution 242.

During Cast Lead, the Ziofier was instantly able to change: the closure of all possible means of civilians escaping a war zone, into: “Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way” as ‘we attacked Gaza with some of the most modern and deadly military equipment in the world, not even allowing them to flee into the sea’.

The secret to the Ziofier’s success is it’s inbuilt fail-safe mechanism which immediately accuses people who might be immune, of being: Antisemites, Jew haters, Israel haters, self hating Jews, terrorist supporters.

The startling results of the Ziofier’s fail-safe mechanism can be seen in the veto vote being used in the UNSC, the press statements of Presidents, statesmen, senators, newspaper reporters, editors, TV anchormen, who all tremble in fear of the labels the Ziofier will instantly dish out.

Have YOU been Ziofied yet? Early symptoms include: Concern that people might think you’re an Antisemite, even if you’re not and there is no evidence that you are? Guarding every word, comma, full stop, upper casing of proper nouns, making sure that nothing you say can possibly be misconstrued, but knowing in the back of your mind that it will? Using anonymous email addresses where you normally wouldn’t because, although nothing you say or believe is in anyway Antisemitic, you know the lil’ ol’ Ziofier doesn’t dis-scriminate?

Propaganda, deception and blatant lies, from Israel, UK to the olde USA. ‘Journalism’ at it’s worst

First some background:

On Monday 21st September 2009, almost a year before required under the NPT agreement, Iran declares another small nuclear enrichment facility

General provisions Article 42 Pursuant to Article 8
design information in respect of existing facilities shall be provided to the Agency during the discussion of the Subsidiary Arrangements. The time limits for the provision of design information in respect of the new facilities shall be specified in the Subsidiary Arrangements and such information shall be provided as early as possible before nuclear material is introduced into a new facility.

This is precisely what Iran has just done.

IAEA’s Spokesman Marc Vidricaire:
said Friday, “I can confirm that on 21 September, Iran informed the IAEA in a letter that a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction in the country.” In line with its guarantee to the IAEA for clarity on its nuclear activities, Iran informed the UN nuclear watchdog on 21 September that it is constructing a second plant for uranium enrichment.

UNITED NATIONS Sept. 23
Iran is willing to have its nuclear experts meet with scientists from the United States and other world powers as a confidence-building measure aimed at resolving concerns about Tehran’s nuclear program, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday.

Mohamed ElBaradei:
“They are not Fanatics” The director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency on what it’s like to negotiate with the Iranians. “They are not like the stereotyped fanatics bent on destroying everybody around them. They are not.”
Q) You focus on actual nuclear material. But the Americans have supplied the IAEA with the documents in question. The Iranians insist they are fake and refuse to talk about them. A) “A lot is in documents which we cannot share with the Iranians because of the need to protect sources and methods. Iran says, how can I tell you if it is fake or authentic if I am not getting a copy? So in many ways it’s like a merry-go-round.”

HIDDEN?? SECRET??
Any one with an internet connection CAN SEE IT on Google Earth
This is where we’re told it is Under a small hill.
But maybe it’s HERE Near an airstrip and maybe preparations for workers quarters
Or over HERE Also near the airstrip and possible preparations for workers quarters.

The first looks like a quarry. Nothing nearby. Under a small hill. Powell puke?

See how they deceive
A paragraph precedes the “quoted text” to give an impression, using words that are not actually in the “quoted text”
‘revealed’ ‘declared’ magically becomes ‘secret’ ‘clandestine’ ‘hidden’.

Deceptions bolded Comments green

TimesOnline Deception : West demands access to Iran’s secret underground nuclear site ‘declared’ as per the NPT agreement, becomes ‘secret’

President Obama, flanked by Gordon Brown and President Sarkozy of France at the G20 summit in Pittsburgh, called the hidden facility a direct challenge to international nuclear non-proliferation rules and demanded that Iran act immediately by agreeing to full international inspections of its nuclear facilities. ‘declared’ as per the NPT agreement, becomes ‘hidden’

Guardian Deception :Ian Black (Journalist)
Q&A: Iran’s secret nuclear plant Preempts ‘declared’ as per the NPT agreement, becomes ‘secret’ Ian Black has created a first impression before giving the answers

Q) What does the news of Iran’s secret nuclear plant mean?
A) It shows Iran has not been telling the truth about its nuclear activities. Under the NPT agreement, Iran is not required to declare facility until just prior to the introduction of nuclear materials. It has just COMPLIED!

Q) Why has it emerged now?
A) On the part of the US and its allies the revelation is exquisitely timed to coincide with today’s G20 summit..It was declared as per the NTP agreement on the 21st September It seems unlikely that a revelation of such importance would have been made without rigorous checking of sources. Like the IAEA 21st September US officials have been quoted as saying the plant is not completed but is designed to hold about 3,000 centrifuges, enough to manufacture about one bomb’s worth of material a year. The assertion, by the author, is NOT “quoted”

Q) How will this information have been obtained?
A) Intelligence on Iran is a top priority for the US, Britain and other western governments, and for Israel, which calls Iran’s nuclear ambitions an existential threat. Israeli claims have in the past been treated with scepticism, so any information it acquired would have to be corroborated. It is known that two years ago the US managed to penetrate Iranian computer systems. There is a broad consensus that Iran does intend to acquire at least the “breakout” capability to build a weapon. The existence of Natanz was a secret until it was revealed by an exiled Iranian opposition group in 2002. A) It was obtained from the IAEA after it was DECLARED to the IAEA on Monday 21st September. B) Natanz was also declared according to the requirements of the IAEA NPT agreement

Haaretz Deception : Barak Ravid (Journalist)
The prime minister’s message, which he made in telephone conversations, came a day after evidence of a clandestine Iranian nuclear facility was presented by U.S. President Barack Obama and the leaders of Britain and France at the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh. …… Evidence of the clandestine facility was unveiled Friday by Obama and the leaders of Britain and France at the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh, where it overshadowed developments on regulating financial markets and reducing fossil fuel subsidies. ‘declared’ becomes ‘clandestine’. It was declared on the Monday before Obama made the announcement

Haaretz Deception : Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman
said on Saturday that the newly exposed nuclear facility in Iran was built for military purposes and was proof that the Islamic Republic is seeking atomic weapons. “I spoke this weekend with experts from the East and West,” Lieberman told Israel Radio. “No one has any doubt, according to the technical data that was published, it’s a military core. The disagreement has been done away with.” ‘declared’ becomes ‘clandestine’ ‘according to the technical data ‘that was published’, refinement is within the guidelines of the NPT agreement’

Haaretz Deception : Natasha Mozgovaya (Journalist)
Medvedev said revelations that Iran has secretly been building a uranium-enrichment plant raised serious concerns, and demanded Tehran come to the table at an international meeting next week with a cooperative attitude and evidence of peaceful intentions. preempts what is said with un-quoted misdirection ‘revealed’ becomes ‘un-declared’ even though it has just been ‘revealed’ as required, (aka ‘declared’). “We are counting on Iran – particularly in light of the newly revealed information about the construction of a new enrichment plant – to provide convincing evidence of its intention to seek to develop nuclear energy with purely peaceful aims,” Medvedev said in the statement.

Medvedev said the undeclared construction of an enrichment facility flies in the face of UN Security Council demands for Iran to stop uranium enrichment at its only declared enrichment facility. He suggested the UN nuclear agency should take steps immediately to investigate the second site and called for Iran’s full cooperation with the probe. preempts what is said with un-quoted misdirection “The revelation about the construction of a second facility only strengthens our determination to achieve concrete and verifiable results in the years-long international efforts for clarity on Iran’s nuclear program and its goals,” Medvedev said.

China responded to news of the secret neactor(sic) by saying that they hope Iran “will cooperate with the IAEA on this matter.” ‘declared’ becomes ‘secret’

J Post Deception : The American Jewish Committee executive director David Harris
said in a statement. “The discovery of this second facility fits perfectly into the web of deceit which Iran has woven around its nuclear program. Let’s recall that the regime also tried to conceal the Natanz facility from the outside world. We are compelled to ask: What else are they hiding?” Natanz was declared BEFORE nuclear materials were introduced, in accordance with the NPT guidelines

And so it goes, over and over and over. They’re either oblivious, naive, ignorant, stupid or just incredibly bad writers. However, if they’re professional journalists, I every much doubt it, because they’re the very things journalists are taught to AVOID!

Which leaves very few options as to why they’d willing propagate such transparent bullshite. Coerced? Compromised? Getting kickbacks? Or perhaps they’re just blatant liars?

World leaders brains zapped by Ziofier – Obama, Sarkozy, Brown issue ultimatum over second Iran uranium plant

The headline should read
“Iran has just complied with their agreement under the NPT.
World leaders go nuts!”

I do not believe world leaders can be so ignorant of the actual requirements under the Iranian/IAEA Non Proliferation Agreement. It is available to anyone with an internet connection.
http://www.iaea.org/Publications/Documents/Infcircs/Others/infcirc214.pdf

Could it be that Obama’s brains have been ziofied over the last few days or is he and the other world leaders trying to pacify the little red heifer in the Middle East by spouting off, in order that the china shop isn’t un-necessarilly trashed?

The way I read it is that treaty signatories are allowed their privacy. In fact, under the NPT, the IAEA is required to protect information that doesn’t breech the guidelines of the NPT. It’s quite obvious Iran is complying before they are required to in order to clarify the situation BEFORE they’re required to. The same scenario was played out when the first ‘secret’ facility was ‘revealed’ by Iranian expats.

General provisions Article 42 Pursuant to Article 8, design information in respect of existing facilities shall be provided to the Agency during the discussion of the Subsidiary Arrangements. The time limits for the provision of design information in respect of the new facilities shall be specified in the Subsidiary Arrangements and such information shall be provided as early as possible before nuclear material is introduced into a new facility.
Article 43
The design information to be provided to the Agency shall include, in respect of each facility, when applicable:
(a) The identification of the facility, stating its general character, purpose, nominal capacity and geographic location, and the name and address to be used for routine business purposes;
(b) A description of the general arrangement of the facility with reference, to the extent feasible, to the form, location and flow of nuclear material and to the general layout of important items of equipment which use, produce or process nuclear material;
(c) A description of features of the facility relating to material accountancy, containment and surveillance; and
(d) A description of the existing and proposed procedures at the facility for nuclear material accountancy and control, with special reference to material balance areas established by the operator, measurements of flow and procedures for physical inventory taking.

Let the mis-information campaign begin…..

From Haaretz : Obama, Sarkozy, Brown issue ultimatum over second Iran uranium plant

Using harsh diplomatic language, the leaders of the United States, Britain and France issued a strongly worded joint condemnation Friday over the existence of a second Iran uranium enrichment plant, revealed earlier this week by Tehran.

Speaking first, U.S. President Barack Obama said that the three nations had presented the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, with detailed information regarding the second Iranian plant. “Iran has been building a covert uranium enrichment facility… for several years,” Obama said. “We expect the IAEA to immediately investigate this disturbing information.”

“Iran’s decision to build the nuclear plant underscores its unwillingness to meet international obligations and represents a direct challenge to the basic contract at the center of the non-proliferation agreement,” he went on. “Iran is breaking rules that all nations must follow.”

Well, no. This is Iran COMPLYING with their agreement as per the rules only signatories to the NTP’s must follow. Israel is not required to follow these rules, Pakistan and India are exempt.

“Everything must be put on the table now,” Sarkozy said. “Iran is taking the international community on a dangerous path and we cannot let the Iranian leaders gain time while the [centrifuge] motors are running.”

Er….they just did, as required.

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, meanwhile, mentioned an October deadline for Iranian cooperation, and warned of the dangers of the regime’s program. “Iran’s nuclear program is the most urgent proliferation challenge the world faces today,” Brown said. “The level of deception by the Iranian goverment… will shock and anger the whole international community, and harden our resolve.”

Er…they just weren’t deceptive. They just COMPLIED, as per the rules.

IAEA spokesman Marc Vidricaire confirmed receipt of the letter, saying the agency was informed that a new pilot fuel enrichment plant is under construction. The letter said that the plant would not enrich uranium beyond the 5 percent level suitable for civilian energy production. That would be substantially below the threshold of 90 percent or more needed for a weapon.

Iran told the agency that no nuclear material has been introduced into the facility, he said. In response, the IAEA has requested Iran to provide specific information and access to the facility as soon as possible.

Meanwhile…. from Time
The headline smugly claims
Ahmadinejad Stung By Obama’s Nuke Revelation
and then promptly falls flat on it’s face.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned President Barack Obama against pressing Tehran about new revelations that Iran has been constructing a secret uranium-enrichment plant. “If I were Obama’s adviser, I would definitely advise him to refrain making this statement because it is definitely a mistake,” Ahmadinejad told TIME in New York on Friday. “It would definitively be a mistake.” His comment came as President Obama, speaking at the G-20 summit in Pittsburgh, made a dramatic announcement that Iran has been constructing a second uranium-enrichment facility whose existence had been kept secret in violation of the non-proliferation agreements to which Tehran is a signatory.

Obviously Massimo Calabresi and Bobby Ghosh don’t have an internet connection

But in an exclusive interview with the editors of TIME that coincided with Obama’s announcement, Ahmadinejad insisted Iran was not keeping anything from the IAEA. “We have no secrecy, we work within the framework of the IAEA,” he said. Still, the Iranian leader seemed nonplussed by the news that Obama was revealing the Qom plant’s existence. Ahmadinejad’s response meandered from the defensive to the aggressive. “This does not mean we must inform Mr. Obama’s administration of every facility that we have,” he said, warning that if Obama brings up the uranium facility, it “simply adds to the list of issues to which the United States owes the Iranian nation an apology over.”

Anyone with an internet connection can find out MORE about the Iranian Nuclear industry that any other country in the world, yet we’re supposed to believe the feigned tosh, dished out by world leaders, in order to placate one small state in the Middle East. Itself a non-signatory to the NPT’s. A state with 223 UNSC resolutions against it. A state that has for 62 years defied the International community. A state whose leader has the audacity to get up in front of the world at the UN and beat Colin Powell’s record for telling absolute bullshite!

Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly 24th September 2009 – full text

Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen, nearly 62 years ago, the United Nations recognized the right of the Jews, an ancient people 3,500 years-old, to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland. I stand here today as the Prime Minister of Israel, the Jewish state, and I speak to you on behalf of my country and my people. The United Nations was founded after the carnage of World War II and the horrors of the Holocaust. It was charged with preventing the recurrence of such horrendous events. Nothing has undermined that central mission more than the systematic assault on the truth.

LIE 1: The power of the veto vote in the UNSC on UNSC resolutions against states in breech of the law, illegally acquiring territory by war, illegal annexation and not adhering to 223 UNSC resolutions, all undermine the power of the UN. Mere words spoken at a UNGA meeting do not.

Yesterday the President of Iran stood at this very podium, spewing his latest anti-Semitic rants. Just a few days earlier, he again claimed that the Holocaust is a lie.

LIE 2: Ahmadinejad claimed that ‘If the Holocaust happened in Europe, why are the Palestinians paying the price’. That claiming the Palestinian people, or for that matter the Arab states, had anything to do with the Holocaust, is a myth. Simple unbiased maths tells us that the Palestinians of today were CHILDREN when the Holocaust happened, none had anything what so ever to do with the Holocaust

Last month, I went to a villa in a suburb of Berlin called Wannsee. There, on January 20, 1942, after a hearty meal, senior Nazi officials met and decided how to exterminate the Jewish people. The detailed minutes of that meeting have been preserved by successive German governments. Here is a copy of those minutes, in which the Nazis issued precise instructions on how to carry out the extermination of the Jews. Is this a lie? A day before I was in Wannsee, I was given in Berlin the original construction plans for the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Those plans are signed by Hitler?s deputy, Heinrich Himmler himself. Here is a copy of the plans for Auschwitz-Birkenau, where one million Jews were murdered. Is this too a lie? This June, President Obama visited the Buchenwald concentration camp. Did President Obama pay tribute to a lie? And what of the Auschwitz survivors whose arms still bear the tattooed numbers branded on them by the Nazis? Are those tattoos a lie? One-third of all Jews perished in the conflagration. Nearly every Jewish family was affected, including my own. My wife’s grandparents, her father?s two sisters and three brothers, and all the aunts, uncles and cousins were all murdered by the Nazis. Is that also a lie?

No, the assertion about what Ahmadinejad said is a lie

Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium. To those who refused to come here and to those who left this room in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity and you brought honor to your countries.

It merely showed either their intolerance for a different opinion. An opinion shared BTW by 223 UNSC resolutions against Israel. Those who’d been enticed by lobbying to leave or those who believe the propaganda that has been spouted against Iran for the last three decades.

But to those who gave this Holocaust-denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere: Have you no shame? Have you no decency?

Lying is against the basic tenets of Judaism. No decent Jew would. Yet Netinyahu has already lied in this very speech.

A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies that the murder of six million Jews took place and pledges to wipe out the Jewish state.

LIE 3: Ahmadinejad quoted a prediction made years before, which did not say Iran would do anything

What a disgrace! What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations.

LIE 4: Israel’s illegal acquisition of territory by war, it’s illegal annexation of East Jerusalem, it’s illegal instituting Israeli Civil Law in “territories occupied”, it’s illegal building of civilian infrastructure in “territories occupied”, it’s illegal building of civilian dwellings in “territories occupied”, it’s illegal SELLING of land to illegal settlers in illegally acquired and illegally annexed land in “territories occupied” and having 223 UNSC resolutions against it, make a mockery of the UN Charter. Not mere rhetoric. Furthermore, SEE HERE

Perhaps some of you think that this man and his odious regime threaten only the Jews. You’re wrong. History has shown us time and again that what starts with attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others.

LIE 5: There are 25,000 Jewish folk living in Iran who refuse to leave
LIE 6: Hitler’s ambitions did not start with threatening or exterminating Jewish people

This Iranian regime is fueled by an extreme fundamentalism that burst onto the world scene three decades ago after lying dormant for centuries. In the past thirty years, this fanaticism has swept the globe with a murderous violence and cold-blooded impartiality in its choice of victims. It has callously slaughtered Moslems and Christians, Jews and Hindus, and many others. Though it is comprised of different offshoots, the adherents of this unforgiving creed seek to return humanity to medieval times.

LIE 7: A) Even though one might despise the practice of terrorism, terrorists have been very specific in their aims and choice of victims. Terrorism, like all warfare, also unfortunately accrues collateral…. B) Iran is attempting to modernize, one only has to look at a few photos of Tehran and C) read the speech given by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad D) The West has for over a hundred years visited the most awful atrocities on the peoples of the Middle East, slaughtering more people than terrorists could ever hope of inflicting

Wherever they can, they impose a backward regimented society where women, minorities, gays or anyone not deemed to be a true believer is brutally subjugated.

LIE 8: A) None of which, even though harsh, a threat to Israel or the world B) There are 25,000 Jews in Iraq who recently refused offers of compensation to immigrate to Israel

The struggle against this fanaticism does not pit faith against faith nor civilization against civilization. It pits civilization against barbarism, the 21st century against the 9th century, those who sanctify life against those who glorify death.

LIE 9: Iran is attempting to modernize, one only has to look at a few photos of Tehran and read the speech given by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

The primitivism of the 9th century ought to be no match for the progress of the 21st century. The allure of freedom, the power of technology, the reach of communications should surely win the day. Ultimately, the past cannot triumph over the future. And the future offers all nations magnificent bounties of hope. The pace of progress is growing exponentially. It took us centuries to get from the printing press to the telephone, decades to get from the telephone to the personal computer, and only a few years to get from the personal computer to the internet. What seemed impossible a few years ago is already outdated, and we can scarcely fathom the changes that are yet to come. We will crack the genetic code. We will cure the incurable. We will lengthen our lives. We will find a cheap alternative to fossil fuels and clean up the planet. I am proud that my country Israel is at the forefront of these advances, by leading innovations in science and technology, medicine and biology, agriculture and water, energy and the environment. These innovations the world over offer humanity a sunlit future of unimagined promise.

LIE 10: Israel has only advanced some technologies and research. By far the majority have come from other countries

But if the most primitive fanaticism can acquire the most deadly weapons, the march of history could be reversed for a time. And like the belated victory over the Nazis, the forces of progress and freedom will prevail only after an horrific toll of blood and fortune has been exacted from mankind. That is why the greatest threat facing the world today is the marriage between religious fanaticism and the weapons of mass destruction.

LIE 11: There are only un-proven accusations of Iran wanting or trying to acquire Nuclear Weapons

The most urgent challenge facing this body is to prevent the tyrants of Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Are the member states of the United Nations up to that challenge? Will the international community confront a despotism that terrorizes its own people as they bravely stand up for freedom? Will it take action against the dictators who stole an election in broad daylight and gunned down Iranian protesters who died in the streets choking in their own blood?

LIE 12: There is no hard evidence that the election was stolen. The protests were violent from the outset. All Governments have a duty to their wider civilian population to maintain civil order

Will the international community thwart the world’s most pernicious sponsors and practitioners of terrorism?

LIE 13: Alleged and thus far, the US has been the greatest sponsor of terrorism in the world

Above all, will the international community stop the terrorist regime of Iran from developing atomic weapons, thereby endangering the peace of the entire world?

LIE 14: There is no evidence that Iran is even seeking Nuclear Weapons

The people of Iran are courageously standing up to this regime. People of goodwill around the world stand with them, as do the thousands who have been protesting outside this hall. Will the United Nations stand by their side?

Ladies and Gentlemen, the jury is still out on the United Nations, and recent signs are not encouraging. Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted.

LIE 15: It condemned both Hamas and the IDF. This is not equating. Furthermore, earlier the claim was made that there was no condemnation of Hamas

For eight long years, Hamas fired from Gaza thousands of missiles, mortars and rockets on nearby Israeli cities.

LIE 16: The territory of Ashkelon was NEVER annexed to Israel, it was illegally acquired by war

Year after year, as these missiles were deliberately hurled at our civilians, not a single UN resolution was passed condemning those criminal attacks.

LIE 17: Hamas is not a State, not a UN Member. The UN cannot pass a resolution against them. The UN can only express condemnation, which they have done numerous times

We heard nothing, absolutely nothing, from the UN Human Rights Council, a misnamed institution if there ever was one.

LIE 18: There was nine pages of condemnation of Hamas in the Goldstone report

In 2005, hoping to advance peace, Israel unilaterally withdrew from every inch of Gaza.

LIE 19: Israel still occupies Gaza, it controls all boundary crossings under the 2005 agreement, airspace and territorial waters. Only an Occupying Power has these rights

It dismantled 21 settlements…

ALL of them ILLEGAL settlements

….and uprooted over 8,000 Israelis. We didn’t get peace. Instead we got an Iranian backed terror base fifty miles from Tel Aviv. Life in Israeli towns and cities next to Gaza became a nightmare.

LIE 20: (repeated) These towns are in territory that was acquired by war and never annexed

You see, the Hamas rocket attacks not only continued, they increased tenfold. Again, the UN was silent.

LIE 21: (repeated) The UN has condemned them on numerous occasions

Finally, after eight years of this unremitting assault, Israel was finally forced to respond.

LIE 22: Although any death is tragic, as of April 27, 2008, a total of 13 Israelis were killed by Qassam rockets since the attacks started in 2001. NONE on actual Sovereign Israeli soil

But how should we have responded? Well, there is only one example in history of thousands of rockets being fired on a country’s civilian population. It happened when the Nazis rocketed British cities during World War II. During that war, the allies leveled German cities, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties.

LIE 23: There is no comparison between the Nazi’s well armed forces and home made rockets. Hamas has no tanks, no aircraft, no warships

Israel chose to respond differently. Faced with an enemy committing a double war crime of firing on civilians while hiding behind civilians, Israel sought to conduct surgical strikes against the rocket launchers. That was no easy task because the terrorists were firing missiles from homes and schools, using mosques as weapons depots and ferreting explosives in ambulances. Israel, by contrast, tried to minimize casualties by urging Palestinian civilians to vacate the targeted areas. We dropped countless flyers over their homes, sent thousands of text messages and called thousands of cell phones asking people to leave. Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way.

LIE 24: A) Where else do people being attacked defend themselves from other than where they live? B) It is illegal to bombard un-defended villages and townships, so Israel can only attack those places where there are fighters willing to fight back. C) Although it gave forewarning, Israel had all the crossings closed, under the 2005 agreement, (only possible to have such an agreement as an Occupying Power), BEFORE attacking, thereby preventing civilians from fleeing a war zone, which is illegal under Geneva Convention 1V…Section II..Occupied territories..Art49…The Occupying Power shall not detain protected persons in an area particularly exposed to the dangers of war unless the security of the population or imperative military reasons so demand

Yet faced with such a clear case of aggressor and victim, who did the UN Human Rights Council decide to condemn? Israel. A democracy legitimately defending itself against terror is morally hanged, drawn and quartered, and given an unfair trial to boot. By these twisted standards, the UN Human Rights Council would have dragged Roosevelt and Churchill to the dock as war criminals. What a perversion of truth. What a perversion of justice.

LIE 25: A) The Goldstone report had nine pages of condemnation of Hamas B) The British and the US weren’t illegally acquiring German territory by war, Israel is illegally acquiring Palestinian territory by war and illegal annexation

Delegates of the United Nations, Will you accept this farce? Because if you do, the United Nations would revert to its darkest days, when the worst violators of human rights sat in judgment against the law-abiding democracies….

LIE 26: When did this ever happen in the UN, it was only resolution to issue a statement, which was later rescinded, BY THE UN

….when Zionism was equated with racism and when an automatic majority could declare that the earth is flat.

LIE 27: The UN was formed in the 1940’s, only nut cases thought the world was flat

If this body does not reject this report, it would send a message to terrorists everywhere: Terror pays; if you launch your attacks from densely populated areas, you will win immunity. And in condemning Israel, this body would also deal a mortal blow to peace.

LIE 28: The report condemned Hamas, nine pages of it

Here’s why. When Israel left Gaza, many hoped that the missile attacks would stop. Others believed that at the very least, Israel would have international legitimacy to exercise its right of self-defense. What legitimacy? What self-defense?

LIE 29: International Law and the UN Charter gives Israel the right to defend it’s ACTUAL sovereign territories form all comers according to the Laws of War and the Conventions Israel has ratified. As the Occupying Power over Gaza and the West Bank Israel has the right to conduct military operations inside the occupied territories in accordance with the UN Charter, Laws of War and the Geneva Conventions

The same UN that cheered Israel as it left Gaza and promised to back our right of self-defense now accuses us, my people, my country of war crimes? And for what? For acting responsibly in self-defense. What a travesty!

LIE 30: For allegedly exceeding what was necessary in order to put down an insurgency

Israel justly defended itself against terror. This biased and unjust report is a clear-cut test for all governments. Will you stand with Israel or will you stand with the terrorists? We must know the answer to that question now. Now and not later. Because if Israel is again asked to take more risks for peace, we must know today that you will stand with us tomorrow. Only if we have the confidence that we can defend ourselves can we take further risks for peace.

LIE 31: Israel is only being asked to abide by it’s UN obligations and the Law, under which it has every right to defend itself.

Ladies and Gentlemen, All of Israel wants peace. Any time an Arab leader genuinely wanted peace with us, we made peace. We made peace with Egypt led by Anwar Sadat.

LIE 32: It was demanded that Israel withdraw from Sovereign Egyptian territory Res 242

We made peace with Jordan led by King Hussein.

LIE 33: It was demanded Res 242

And if the Palestinians truly want peace, I and my government, and the people of Israel, will make peace. But we want a genuine peace, a defensible peace, a permanent peace. In 1947, this body voted to establish two states for two peoples, a Jewish state and an Arab state.

LIE 34: The UN voted only to give the opportunity, via res 181 putting forward recommendations, which either party could take up if they wished, in order to declare sovereignty, if they wished

The Jews accepted that resolution.

And the borders it recommended

The Arabs rejected it. We ask the Palestinians to finally do what they have refused to do for 62 years. Say yes to a Jewish state. Just as we are asked to recognize a nation-state for the Palestinian people, the Palestinians must be asked to recognize the nation state of the Jewish people.

There is no legal requirement for states to be recognized, especially by entities who have had 50% of their rightful territories illegally acquired by war and who are still are under the occupation of a Sovereign state like Israel after 42 years

The Jewish people are not foreign conquerors in the Land of Israel.

LIE 35: The ‘Land of Israel’ only extends to the actual sovereign territories of the Sovereign State of Israel. Furthermore, since 1948 Israel has acquired by war, 50% of the territory Israel did NOT declare Sovereignty over in 1948

This is the land of our forefathers.

It is also the land of other peoples’ forefathers

Inscribed on the walls outside this building is the great Biblical vision of peace: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. They shall learn war no more.” These words were spoken by the Jewish prophet Isaiah 2,800 years ago as he walked in my country, in my city, in the hills of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem.

We are not strangers to this land. It is our homeland. As deeply connected as we are to this land, we recognize that the Palestinians also live there and want a home of their own. We want to live side by side with them, two free peoples living in peace, prosperity and dignity.

LIE 36: Israel has illegally acquired, by war 50% of the rightful territories of the Palestinians and refuses, despite it being illegal, to give it up. This is NOT a demonstration of wanting peace

But we must have security. The Palestinians should have all the powers to govern themselves except those handful of powers that could endanger Israel.

Automatically precludes them from declaring sovereignty, even statehood. In fact, they’d be nothing more than a protectorate

That is why a Palestinian state must be effectively demilitarized. We don’t want another Gaza, another Iranian backed terror base abutting Jerusalem and perched on the hills a few kilometers from Tel Aviv.

If Iran is backing them, why are Hamas using home made Qassams, antiquated small arms and simple mortars and the occasional RUSSIAN made Grad?

We want peace. I believe such a peace can be achieved. But only if we roll back the forces of terror, led by Iran, that seek to destroy peace, eliminate Israel and overthrow the world order. The question facing the international community is whether it is prepared to confront those forces or accommodate them. Over seventy years ago, Winston Churchill lamented what he called the “confirmed unteachability of mankind,” the unfortunate habit of civilized societies to sleep until danger nearly overtakes them. Churchill bemoaned what he called the “want of foresight, the unwillingness to act when action will be simple and effective, the lack of clear thinking, the confusion of counsel until emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong.” I speak here today in the hope that Churchill’s assessment of the “unteachibility of mankind” is for once proven wrong. I speak here today in the hope that we can learn from history — that we can prevent danger in time.

In the spirit of the timeless words spoken to Joshua over 3,000 years ago, let us be strong and of good courage. Let us confront this peril, secure our future and, God willing, forge an enduring peace for generations to come.

All in all, propaganda PLUS. Netanyahu seems to be completely oblivious to the truth. He delivered a self centered rant worthy of the propagandists at CiFWatch

No to illegal settlements AND the UN Security Council calls for nuclear weapons states to disarm

The United Nations Security Council, at a historic summit meeting chaired by U.S. President Barack Obama, unanimously approved a U.S.-drafted resolution on Thursday calling on nuclear weapons states to scrap their deadly arsenals. Seems other folk share the same sentiments as Global Zero.

This and an end to Israel’s illegal settlements and the establishment of a Palestinian state. Knowing President Obama has that precious power of veto he could withdraw, I wonder just how “dramatic” Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations’ General Assembly on Thursday will be now? After all they were two of the mainstays of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s speech. No wonder some folk walked out. I can only guess they didn’t want to be seen on camera, sitting there, with their hands over their ears.

Now Obama, the UNSC and the US, after having not taken any action against Israel for 61 years, will no doubt be slandered and slurred along with Ahmadinejad. One can only hope the little heifer won’t break too much china if it has to be put, kicking and screaming, back in it’s place and dragged to the negotiation table.

Ahmadinejad’s Speech at the UN General Assembly 23rd September 2009 – full text

In the name of God the Compassionate, the Merciful All praise Be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe and peace and blessing be upon our Master and prophet Mohammad and his pure household and his noble Companions. Oh, god, hasten the arrival of Imam Al- Mahdi and grant him good health and victory and make us his followers and those who attest to his rightfulness.

see below for his expansion of what is meant by ‘the arrival of Imam Al- Mahdi’

President, dear Colleagues, Ladies and gentlemen, I thank the Almighty God for granting me once again, the opportunity to address this important International forum. I wish at the outset, to begin by congratulating you for having assumed the presidency of the 64th Session of the UN General Assembly and wish every the success for your efforts. I also extend my thanks to His Excellency Mr. Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann, President of the 63rd Session of the General Assembly, for his excellent stewardship of the work of the General Assembly during his term.

Dear Colleagues, over the past four years I have spoken about the main challenges facing our world. I have discussed the roots and underlying causes of these challenges and the need for world powers to review their outlook and workout new mechanisms to address the pressing International problems before us. I have talked about the two conflicting outlooks prevailing in our world, one that is based on the predominance of its materialistic interests, through spreading inequality and oppression, poverty and deprivation, aggression, occupation and deception and tends to bring the entire world under its control and impose its will on other nations. This outlook has produced nothing but frustration, disappointment and a dark future for the entire humanity.

The other outlook is the one that spouses with the belief in the oneness of the Almighty God, follows the teaching of His messengers, respects human dignity and seeks to build a secure world for all members of the human community, in which everybody can equally enjoy the blessings of sustainable peace and spirituality. This latter is an outlook that respects all human beings, nations, and valuable cultures in defiance of all types of discrimination in the world and commits itself into a constant fight to promote equality for all before the law on the basis of justice and fraternity, laying a solid foundation to guarantee equal access for all human beings in their quest to excel in knowledge and in science. I have laid emphasis time and again on the need to make fundamental changes in the current outlook towards the world and the human being in order to be able to create a brighter tomorrow.

Friends and Colleagues. Today, I wish to share with you a few points about the changes that should take place.

First. Clearly, the continuation of the current circumstances in the world is impossible. The current inequitable and unfavorable conditions run counter to the very nature of human kind and move in a direction which contravenes the truth and the goal behind the creation of the world. It is no longer possible to inject thousands of billions of dollars of unreal wealth to the world economy, simply by printing worthless paper assets, or transferring inflation as well as social and economic problems to others through creating severe budget deficits. The engine of unbridled capitalism with its unfair system of thought has reached the end of road and is unable to move. The era of capitalist thinking and the imposition of one’s thoughts on the international community, intended to predominate the world in the name of globalization and the age of setting up empires is over. It is no longer possible to humiliate nations and impose double standard policies on the world community.

It is necessary to de-legitimize and reject any approach which give the realization of the interests of certain powers as the only measurement of democracy and uses despicable forces of intimidation and deceit under the mantle of freedom or democratic practice and approaches that allow dictators to be portrayed as democrats lack legitimacy and should be rejected. The time has come to an end for those who define democracy and freedom and set standards while they themselves are the first who violate its fundamental principles. They can no longer be both in fact the judge and the executor and (they?) challenge the real democratically established governments. So I would like to say again, the time has come for a group of people who believe that they alone can define concepts such as democracy and freedom and hold up the criteria for these definitions while simultaneously violating the very principles to which they aspire. Governments can continue which are based on the rule of people.

The awakening of nations and the expansion of freedom worldwide will no longer allow others to continue their hypocrisy and vicious attitudes. Because of these reasons, most nations including the people of the Untied States, are waiting for real and profound changes. They have welcomed and will continue to welcome changes.

How can one imagine that the inhuman policies in Palestine may continue to force the entire population of a country out of their homeland for more than 60 years by resorting to force and coercion. To attack them with all types of arms and at times even prohibited weapons. To deny them of their legitimate right of self-defense, while much to the surprise of the international community calling the occupiers peace lovers and portraying the victims as terrorists. How can the crimes of the occupiers against defenseless women and children and destruction of their homes, farms, hospitals and schools be supported unconditionally by certain governments and at the same time, the oppressed men and women be subject to the heaviest economic blockade which denies their basic needs, food, water and medicine and leads to genocide. They are not allowed to rebuild their homes even which were destroyed during the 22-day barbaric attacks by the Zionist regime, as winter was approaching. Whereas the aggressors and their supporters deceitfully continue their rhetoric in defense of human rights, in order to put others under pressure.

It is un-acceptable that a small minority should dominate the politics, economy and culture of vast parts of the world a complicated complicated network and establish a new form of slavery and harm the reputation of other nations, even European nations and the United States to attain its racist ambitions.

It is not acceptable that some who are several thousands of kilometers away from the Middle East would send their troops for military intervention and for spreading war, bloodshed, aggression, terror and intimidation in the Middle East, in our region, while blaming the protests of nations in the region, that are concerned about their fate and their national security, as a move against peace and as interference in others’ affairs.

Such perspectives are baffling, look at the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan. It is no longer possible to bring a country under military occupation in the name of fight against terrorism or drug trafficking while the production of illicit drugs has multiplied, terrorism has widened its dimensions and has tightened its grips. Thousands of innocent people have been killed, injured or displaced, infrastructures have been destroyed and regional security has been seriously jeopardized and those who have created the current disastrous situation continue to blame others.

How you can speak of friendship and solidarity with other nations while you expand your military bases in different parts of the world including in Latin America. This situation cannot continue. It is all the more impossible to advance expansionist and inhuman policies on the basis of a militaristic logic. The logic of coercion and intimidation will produce dire consequences, exacerbating the present global problems.

It is not acceptable that the military budget of some governments exceeds far larger (than) those of the entire countries of the world. There are those who export billions of dollars of arms annually, stockpile chemical and biological weapons, as well as nuclear Weapons. Establish military bases or have military presence in other countries while accusing others of militarism and mobilize all their resources in the world to impede the scientific and technological progress of other nations under the pretext of countering arms proliferation.

It is not acceptable that the United Nations and the Security Council, whose decisions should represent all nations and governments through applying democratic measures of decision making, popular methods of decision making, be dominated by a few governments who seek to serve their own interests. Principally in a world where cultures, thoughts and public opinion should be the determining factors. The continuation of the present situation is impossible, and fundamental changes seem to be unavoidable. We seek to establish a new system. A new world system.

Second. Any change must be structural, theoretical and practical, involving all domains of life. Outdated mechanisms which themselves were instrumental in and the root cause for present problems in human societies, can never be used to bring change and create our desired world. Liberalism and capitalism, especially of the nature that seeks to dominate the world and alienates human beings from heavenly and moral values will never bring happiness for humanity, because they are the main source of all misfortune, wars, poverty and deprivation.

We have all seen that the inequitable economic structures controlled by certain political interest groups were used to plunder national wealth of countries simply for the benefit of a group of corrupt businesses. Present structures therefore are incapable of reforming the challenges before us. The political and economic structures created after World War II that were based on intentions to dominate the world, in brief, failed to promote justice and lasting security. Rulers whose hearts do not beat for the love of humankind and who sacrificed the spirit of justice in their minds never can offer the promise of peace and friendship to humanity. By the grace of God, Marxism is gone. It is now history and the unhindered expansion Capitalism too will certainly have the same fate. Because based on the divine traditions referred to as a principle in the Holy Quran, the wrong like the bubbles on the surface of water and will disappear. There remains only what that can be used forever towards the interest of human societies.

We must therefore all remain vigilant to prevent the pursuit of colonialism, discriminatory and inhuman goals under the pretext of the slogans for change or and in new formats. The world needs to undergo fundamental changes and all must engage collectively to make them happen in the right way and through such efforts no one and no government would consider itself an exception to change or superior to others and try to impose its will on others by proclaiming world leadership.

Third. All problems that exist in our world today emanate from the fact that rulers have distanced themselves from human values, morality and the teachings of divine messengers. Regrettably, in the current state of international relations, selfishness and insatiable greed have taken the place of such humanitarian concepts as love, sacrifice, dignity and justice. The belief in the One God has been replaced with self belief. Some have taken the place of God and insist to impose their values and wishes on others. Lies have taken the place of honesty, hypocrisy has replaced integrity and selfishness has taken the place of sacrifice. Deception in interactions is called foresight these days and statesmanship. Looting the wealth of other nations is called development efforts, occupation is introduced as a gift towards promotion of freedom and democracy, and defenseless nations are subjected to repression in the name of defending human rights.

Friends and Colleagues. The resolution of global problems and administration of justice and maintenance of peace will only be materialized with collective determination and cooperation of all nations and states. The time to polarizing the world on the premises of the hegemony or domination of a few governments is over. Today we must rise together in a collective commitment against the present challenges, we must take change seriously and help others through collective work to return to basic moral and human values.

Messengers were sent by God to show the light of the truth to mankind, they came to make people aware of their individual and social obligations. Piety, having faith in Allah and its judgment of human behavior in the next world, in the belief in the primacy of justice in both lives, seeking one’s happiness, well being and security in the happiness, well-being and security of others, respecting human kind, making efforts to expand love and compassion against hostility, were all on top of the teachings offered by the Messengers of God, his divine messengers from Adam to Noah, from Noah to Abraham, Moses, Jesus Christ and the last Prophet Mohammad, may peace be upon all of them. All of them came to eliminate war and ignorance, to eradicate poverty and uproot discrimination in order to spread happiness in the entire world. They are the best gifts that God Almighty has granted to human beings. If the belief in Entezar or, in other words, awaiting patiently for justice to return to earth, will turn into a common goal and we join hands to achieve prosperity for all, then there will be more real and increasing hope for reform.

Fourth. In my opinion, we have several important agendas in front of us. The Secretary-General and the UN General Assembly can take the lead by undertaking necessary measures for the fulfillment of our shared goals on the basis of the following:
1 – Restructuring the United Nations in order to transform this world body to an efficient and fully democratic organization, capable of playing an impartial, equitable, and effective role in international relations, reforming the structure of the Security Council, specially by abolishing the discriminatory privilege of veto right, restoration of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people by organizing a referendum and free elections in Palestine in order to prepare a conducive environment for all Palestinian populations, including Muslims, Christians and Jews to live together in peace and harmony, putting an end to all types of interferences in the affairs of Iraq, Afghanistan, Middle East, and in all countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe.

My friends, as our great Prophet said, a government may survive with blasphemy, but never with oppression. Oppression against Palestinians and the violation of their rights still continue. A new group of Palestinians who lived in al-Qod al-Sharif were again forced out of their homes as the destruction of their residential homes continues by the occupiers and usurpers. Bombings in Afghanistan and Pakistan have not yet stopped and the Guantanamo Prison has not yet been shut down and, there are still secret prisons in Europe.

Continuation of the present situation adds to hostilities and violence. Oppression and military aggression must be stopped. Regrettably, official reports concerning the brutalities of the Zionist regime in Gaza have not all been completely published. The Secretary-General and the United Nations have crucial responsibilities in this respect and the international community is impatiently waiting for the punishment of the aggressors and the murderers of the defenseless people of Gaza.

2- Reforming the current economic structures and setting up a new international economic order based on human and moral values and obligations. A new course is needed in fact that would help promote justice and progress worldwide, by flourishing the potentials and talents of all nations, thus bringing well-being for all and for future generations.

3- Reforming the international political relations based on the promotion of lasting peace and friendship, eradication of arms race and elimination of all nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. To pave the way for all nations to have access to advanced and peaceful technologies for the advancement of human beings.

4- Reforming cultural structures, respect for diverse customs and traditions of all nations, fostering moral values and spirituality aimed at strengthening the institution of a warm family which is the backbone of all human societies.

5- Worldwide efforts to protect the environment and full observance of the international agreements and arrangements to prevent the annihilation of nature’s non-renewable resources.

Fifth. Our nation has successfully gone through a glorious and fully democratic election, opening a new chapter for our country in the march towards national progress and enhanced international interactions. They entrusted me once more with a large majority, with this heavy responsibility. And now, I want to declare that our great nation that has made great contribution to the world civilization, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the most democratic and progressive governments in the world, is ready to mobilize all its cultural, political and economic capabilities to engage in a constructive process aimed at addressing the international concerns and challenges, and confronting the challenges that face human society.

Our country that builds cultures has been a main victim of terrorism itself, blind form terrorism and the target of an all-out military aggression during the first decade of it’s revolution.

All through the past thirty years we have been subject to hostile attitudes of those who once supported with all their might Saddam’s military aggression and his use of chemical weapons against us and then, decided another day and time, to take military action in Iraq to get of the same man.

Today, our nation seeks to create a world in which justice and compassion prevail. We announce our commitment to participate in the process of building durable peace and security worldwide for all nations, based on based on justice, spirituality and human dignity, while being dedicated to strongly defending our legitimate and legal rights. To materialize these goals, our nation is prepared to warmly shake all those hands which are honestly extended to us. No nation can claim to be free from the need to change and reform in this journey towards perfectness. We welcome real and humane changes and stand ready to actively engage in fundamental global reforms.

Therefore, we emphasize that the only path to remain safe is to return to Monotheism and justice and this is the greatest hope and opportunity in all ages and generations. Without belief in God and commitment to the cause of justice and fight against injustice and discrimination, the world structure will not be corrected. Man is at the center of the universe. The man’s unique feature is his humanity. The same feature which seeks justice, piety, love, knowledge, awareness and all other high values. These human values should be supported and each and every fellow human should be given the opportunity to acquire them. Neglecting any of them is tantamount to the omission of a constituting piece of humanity. These are common elements which connect all human communities and constitute the basis of peace, security and friendship.

The divine religions pay attention to all aspects of human life, including obedience to God, morality, justice, fighting oppression, and endeavor to establish just and good governance. The prophet Abraham called for the oneness of God against Nimrod, as Prophet Moses did the same against Pharaohs and Jesus Christ and Prophet Muhammad, may peace be upon them all, did against the oppressors of their own time. They were all threatened to death and were forced out of their homelands. Without resistance and objection, the injustices would not be removed from the face of earth.

Link to this section http://wp.me/pDB7k-8J#Mahdi

And the last point that I would like to make. Dear Friends and Colleagues, the world is in a continuous change and evolution. The promised destiny for mankind is the establishment of the humane pure life and this will come when justice is pervasive across the globe and every single human being will enjoy respect and dignity. That will be the time when mankind’s path to moral and spiritual perfectness will be opened and his journey to God and the manifestation of God’s divine names will come true. Mankind should excel to represent God’s “knowledge and wisdom”, His “compassion and benevolence”, His “justice and fairness”, His “power and art” and His “kindness and forgiveness”. These will all come true under the rule of the Perfect Man, the last Divine Source on earth Hazrat Mahdi, Peace be upon him, an offspring of the Prophet of Islam, who will re-engage and Jesus Christ, Peace be upon him and other pious men will accompany him in the accomplishment of this grand universal mission. And this is the belief in Entezar, awaiting patiently for the Imam to return, waiting with patience for the rule of goodness and the governance of the best he promises. Which is a universal human notion and which is a source of nations’ hope for the betterment of the world.

They will come and with the help of righteous people and true believers will materialize the man’s long-standing desires for freedom, perfectness, maturity and security and tranquility, peace and beauty. They will come to put an end to war and aggression and present the entire knowledge to the world as well as spirituality and friendship to the whole world.

Yes. Indeed, the bright future for the mankind will come.

Friends. Dear Friends, in waiting for that brilliant time to come and in a collective commitment, let’s make due contributions in paving the grounds and preparing the conditions for building that bright future. Long live love and spirituality, long live peace and security, long live justice and freedom. I thank you all.

Well…..Apart from the religious aspects, (I adhere religiously to atheism), there’s not much I disagree with. This doesn’t mean I support Iran’s draconian laws, treatment of gays or women.

There’s no Antisemitism or hatred. At face value, it is a call for peace.

Accusations against Israel? Israel DOES have 223 UNSC resolutions against it, according to which Israel HAS illegally acquired other folks territory by war and it HAS illegally annexed territory. It HAS gotten away with it via the US veto vote in the UNSC, as it HAS been able to sway the US and the rest of the world HASN’T done anything to counter this influence.

Israel DID close all means of escape from Gaza including, under the 2005 agreement, the crossing with Egypt, thereby illegally preventing civilians from fleeing a war zone (Geneva Convention 1V…Section II..Occupied territories..Art49…The Occupying Power shall not detain protected persons in an area particularly exposed to the dangers of war unless the security of the population or imperative military reasons so demand). Then proceeded to attack the territory with some of the most advanced weapons on the planet, against which the Palestinians had no real defenses.

The West HAS interfered in the Middle East for over 100 years. In fact, we in Australia were taught via British style history books to be proud of the Empire’s meddling.

I can only imagine those who walked out, were to embarrassed to sit there with their hands over their ears or worried about being branded by Netanyahu’s rhetoric, which alas, was propaganda plus

If people tell outright lies on a talkbored, why should anyone believe anything they say? Answer, you can’t!!

Apart from refusing my registration to Olive Branch, despite their claim “ALL are welcome to join in”, and the fact that the whole premise of the thread Israel ‘occupies’ no Arab territories, is a blatant lie , they bear false witness. Which of course is completely against the basic tenets of Judaism.

Peter,

You seem to forget something very important.
Western Galilee, and Tel Katsir to Almagor.
We have gained use of that small strip around the Kineret – which was not intended for our use, slopes of Naftali mountains – same, and the entire Western Galilee – From Safed to Akko.

Yeterday, reading comments in The Guardian, a regular poster calls himself “Talknic” seems to counter your opinion about the Palestinian aspirations prior to 1967 as a result that no borders were declared between 1949 and 1967.

This, in my opinion, shows his / hers true intentions that either the armestice lines of 1949 should be moved back to the original patition plan (absurd idea) or that Zionism is not a valid movement and Jews do not have the right to self govern and a national movement.

Needless to say that many agree with him in that forum.
The one state solutioners all fit this line of thoughts.

Arrafat’s finest troops.

A) I’ve never advocated Israel move back to any armistice lines, because 1) Armistice lines are not borders unless they were borders before the armistice 2) Borders were never ‘declared’ in 1949/50 and Israel has never legally annexed any territory.
B) Neither here anywhere else, have I ever advocated a one state solution.

“Alas, history proves you wrong. By 1949 Israel had grown some what from it’s apportioned lot under 181.”

I answered him as follows:

Well done Talknic: what good misdirection. ‘Israel had grown’ as if it were Israel’s fault that she was attacked by all her neighbouring countries and had the cheek of not succumbing!

Really? I wonder where she gets her information. Certainly not from anything I’ve ever written

A Blizzard of Lies

Jewish voices for peace
This year, TIFF decided to put a celebratory spotlight on Tel Aviv at the festival, in line with the goals of the Israeli Consulate’s “Brand Israel” program. In its own words, the “Brand Israel” program aims to publicize Israeli culture in order to distract public attention from its human rights record. The letter of protest objects to this politicization of the film festival, saying it is inappropriate given Israel’s nearly 42-year occupation of the Palestinian Territories, the recent assault and continuing siege on Gaza, and the history of and ongoing dispossession of Palestinians in Tel Aviv-Jaffa itself.
Since the release of the protest letter, public figures and media outlets have spread false charges and misinformation about the letter, some even going so far as to raise slanderous accusations against some letter signers.
This fact sheet refutes three key false charges:
1) That the protest letter unfairly singles out Israel.
2) That the letter calls for a boycott of the Film Festival and Israeli films.
3) That the letter in any way delegitimizes Tel Aviv.

These charges are all false, as we explain …..

A busy time in the den of thieves…

John Brown

Well, talknic has been outed in his latest incarnation by Yotam on the Whitaker Yemen thread,

Yes, his only post, which was deleted, was to desperately have someone silenced, rather than address the content. Rather against ye olde CiFWatch motto, ‘The voice of opponents, no less than that of friends has a right to be heard’

‘outed’ ? Mmmmm. Links to this blog. Tell the mods I’d like to be moderated. No change of style. Easy to spot: the questions asked of John Brown’s fellows always go un-answered, out of embarrassment on their part no doubt. Brave John Brown continues:

“..and I see that Dikaisyne has piled on as well . So just in case his/her comment is dleted, here it is for the records:”

LOL ‘piled on‘ a rather revealing choice of words, suggesting maybe a concerted effort? Dikaisyne’s (likely the banned AKUS judging by how much it knows about talknic’s past) post shows..well, nothing!! Except of course to want a War Crimes investigation in Yemen, when Yemen was not at war with anyone. To investigate Nasser’s war crimes, when Nasser has been dead for years. And that (as we can see from an earlier post and the final post, below) it took Dikaisyne almost an entire day, till the end of comments to get UNHRC correct..

1)

Dikaisyne

Snow will fall in Yemen before the UNHCR sends a commission to investigate war crimes there, or Judge Goldstone expresses an opinion on the matter.

They could start with Nasser’s use of poison gas against Yemenies about 50 years ago.

Where UNHCR actually came from, yes Dikaisyne itself, so kindly preserved by brave John Brown

CiF and the un-answered questions some folk would rather not have asked

…It’s actually quite simple. If it isn’t the “acknowledged” Sovereign Territory of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt or Israel,
then it’s a territory of Palestine…

Shortlink http://wp.me/pDB7k-7X

I’ve no idea why talknic was banned from CiF. It’s never been explained. No warning, no correspondence answered. To the best of my knowledge, no guidelines broken.

Sure I re-register, A) In protest at being unfairly banned B) In order to show where the lies lie and C) In order to engage in well informed and erudite discussion, sans abuse and personal attacks D) using an email address at my own domain, so the moderators know exactly who I am, where I live, what I do for a living. In fact, more than my mother knows.

Of course if one is banned and re-registers one has to choose a new posting nic. Which results in silly accusations of deception. Hey, I’m impersonating myself? Hiding by linking this blog?

These same folk refuse to honestly answer any question put to them. It’s odd that one can engage in rational discussion with other posters & posts remain up UNTIL the moment there’s engagement with a supporter of Israel’s illegal activities. Almost instantly reported, banned and of late, the posts are almost completely purged.

Is what I write Antisemitic? Well talknic doesn’t appear on CiFWatch as an Antisemite. Abusive? Trolling? Hatefull? Well, no, I try to deal precisely with what posters have claimed or asserted and attempt to give rational answers or ask rational questions, pointing to factual information from reliable repositories and/or, for the most part, websites such as the Jewish Virtual Library, the Israeli Government web site, the JCPA.

Yes, the information is collected here, on a blog. That doesn’t invalidate the information it contains. However when I point to this collection on CiF, it results in immediately deletion and of course banning, whilst blatant lies and very obvious bigotry for the most part, remains.

Judging by the stats the CiFers have visited. Yet not contesting what’s here, on an un-moderated platform, in a completely open debate.

Nine ‘a’ for Arabs in a row. Somewhat of a record

…It’s actually quite simple. If it isn’t the “acknowledged” Sovereign Territory of Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt or Israel,

I can’t help but notice how many apologists for Israel’s illegal activities indulge in the continual and purposeful lower casing of ‘A’rab & ‘P”alestinian/s, ‘M’uslim, ‘I’slam. They seem, for the most part, to be the same folk who go on about a G-/od given right to settle anywhere in Palestine, despite the fact that since Declaration, Israel is a Sovereignty, with sovereign borders that do not encompass all of Palestine.

If one considers that A) it is against the basic tenets of Judaism to indulge in bigotry and yet here they are B) spouting on about G-/od, one can only come to the conclusion that they’re also quite hypocritical.

Examples from CiF of 22 Sep 2009 (they might be deleted by the time you read this, however C&P’d verbatim – I’ll probably have been banned again [as ‘inresponseto’] by the time I write this and very likely completely purged)

rafaelfreire

22 Sep 09, 9:50am

@inresponseto: “Illegal” settlements in the west bank of the river Jordan, in Judea and Samaria. Says who? Judea and Samaria, Jewish land stolen from arabs (that people that came from Arabia and stole the whole ME + Iberia, now free) was under arab Jordan occupation when that country, together with Lebanon,, Syria, Iraq, Egypt, etc. attacked (again) in 1967 and lost it. Israel conquered it in a defensive war and is entitled to keep it. Israel can’t give Judea and Samaria to the arabs for several reasons: Arabs don’t need it, they already have 22 countries. Judea and Samaria have a sentimental value to the Jews, just like London to the english people. And for strategic reasons as well. See what happened to Gaza? Israel gave it to the arabs. It is Judenrein now (except for kidnaped Gilad Shalit). The day Israel left that territory, conquered in a defensive war from arab Egypt, the arabs started firing rockets.

rafaelfreire

Not easy to make peace with the people from the “religion of peace”, you know, that people Britain have been killing (a million so far) for the last eight years in Afghanistan and Iraq. How many arabs killed by (arab) car bombs in arab Iraq today? How many girls killed by their parents or brothers for “honour” in the arab world today? How many dissidents killed by arab dictators today? How many arabs killed by arabs in the arab world today? How many arabs killed by Jews in Israel today? None. Yesterday? None, thank God.

Nine in one tiny paragraph.

Anyone who wants to impose Hamas on the palestinian peoples against their will,as was done in Gaza definitely is not thinking of the good of the palestinian peoples interest.

The palestinians have enough problems of their own,and don’t need Hamas added to their problems.Hamas has shown to be corrupt, nepotistic, and run a extremely brutal regime in Gaza.Where Hamas “fighters” are venerated, and the rest of the population are deprived and suffering extreme hardship.

A typo repeated over and over? Hard to believe. A spelling error? No, it’s spelled correctly! A grammar error? No. Upper & lower casing are not grammatical!

@OopsItsMe – I don’t accept your excuses. Britain is not a dictatorship, Britain is not an arab country like Lybia, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, etc. Britain is a democracy and if your country has been killing millionos of people for the last eight years it means the majority of the people is for it.

One can only wonder why they bother, it immediately shows the reader that they’re ghastly bigots and undermines anything of value they might have to contribute. Who is gonna believe or take note of ANYTHING they write?

Note: Yup. Banned AND almost completely purged. Desperately silencing talknic, while the bigotspew remains. Weird.

The sacrificial altar – Israel vs Goldstone

Filed under: Israel & the Palestinians, LEGALITIES, Occupation — talknic @ 11:25 pm

It’s incredible the lengths some people will go to…The ‘two wrongs’ principal is alive and well and living in Israel. The associations they’re willing to make, the lies they’re willing to tell and the friends they’re now suddenly willing to throw to the wolves. UN Gaza report / Will U.S. now let Goldstone into Afghanistan? asks Amir Oren in Haaretz In an article which not only puts Israel alongside My Lai, but goes on to throw up a hypothetical situation in which he tries to implicate the NY Times in the slaughter of innocents during the rescue of a reporter.

Also from Haaretz “The Goldstone report is a dangerous attempt to harm the principle of self-defense by democratic states and provides legitimacy to terrorism,” Danny Ayalon told the heads of the American Jewish Committee during a meeting in New York. “The Goldstone Report should be treated like the UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 equating Zionism with racism, thus we must mobilize and act with all force against the report in order to remove it”. A blatant lie of course. The actual report condemns Hamas actions, calling them a war crime. The fear is it seems the UNSC, with perhaps for the first time, a US President who might not use the power of the precious veto vote in order to protect Israel being prosecuted for it’s illegal actions.

Not to mention, though I will..THE FLAMING WARS..

A JPost titbit, between Ken Roth & Irwin Cotler.
“Ken Roth’s article “Don’t smear the messenger” (August 26) – responding to my critique of the Goldstone mission under the authority of the UN Human Rights Council – reminds me of what is termed the “false accusation in the mirror,” where you accuse the “other” of what you yourself are doing.” Wherein Irwin does exactly that, by accusing the investigation as being flawed & one-sided. “My critique was of the tainted [this is an understatement] authority of the UN Human Rights Council under which the mission was established; the flawed, one-sided mandate – also an understatement; the prejudicial presence of one of the members of the commission, who had already pronounced herself on the merits of the issue thereby giving rise to a reasonable apprehension of bias in the work of the commission; and the damage done to the integrity of the UN and the authority of international law, the whole of which underpins the Goldstone mission.”

I suggest these Israeli Government representatives actually read the mandate. It IS in the report. It IS available. They could have had a say in how the investigation was conducted, but refused.

Moving on to the more rabid, settlers publication Arutz Sheva, we have one Fundamentally Freund “Disregard for facts, context and history. The news today was simply breathtaking. A United Nations war-crimes investigation into Israel’s counter-terror campaign in Gaza late last year concluded that “Israel committed actions amounting to war crimes, possibly crimes against humanity.” Within six months, the matter may be referred to the International Court of Justice at the Hague.

And so, with due disregard for the facts on the ground, the context, or the history of the Middle East conflict, a UN lynch mob has grabbed the Jewish state by the throat and laid the groundwork for tossing her into the very special dock reserved for the likes of Adolf Hitler, Slobodan Milosevic and various other modern-day vampires…” Gee Snr Freund, it’s reserved for UN Member states and their representatives only, who commit a war crime. Your diatribe is fundamentally flawed. However it’s interesting to see where Snr Freund aligns the accusations leveled at Israel. Also interesting to see he ignores the scope and mandate covering the investigation. At a guess he also ignores the FACT that Israel has been wiping the Palestinians off the map for 62 years

“Biased Goldstone report gives support to terror” screams Jpost’s Haviv Rettig Gur

Filed under: Israel & the Palestinians, LEGALITIES — talknic @ 3:53 am

JPost Sep 16, 2009 0:58 | Updated Sep 16, 2009 3:17 Israel called the Goldstone Commission Report “nauseating” on Tuesday, saying it created an unjust “equivalence of a democratic state with a terror organization” and lacked the context of a decade of terrorist attacks by Hamas.

Well? Fair’s fair. It didn’t mention 62 years of wiping the Palestinians off the map either! But hey, WHERE’s THE SUPPORT TO TERROR? There’s nothing in the article to support the headline! The journalista seems to be doing hysteria, rather than news!

HUMAN RIGHTS IN PALESTINE AND OTHER OCCUPIED ARAB TERRITORIES – Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict

Expect a flood of Goldstone bashing like we’ve never seen….I wonder if he’ll be allowed into ye olde homeland ever again and if he is, whether he’ll make it out again.

Chunky report though, there’ll be some gnashing teeth to be sure. They’ve begun gnashing already Let the spin begin!!!
Doesn’t take long for some folk to start conflating…Condemning both is now ‘equating’

From HaaretzThe Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that Israel was “appalled and disappointed” by the damning report. “The UN body has dealt a huge blow to governments seeking to defend their citizens from terror,” said Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor. In particular, said Palmor, the commission’s equation of Hamas to Israel in its 600 page report was “appalling and disappointing.”

The Israeli campaign is aimed at preventing a discussion on the report in the United Nations Security Council.
………“This is going to be a long legal and diplomatic operation,” said a senior Israel official familiar with the report. “We’ll get our friends across the world active, especially the United States, to prevent the isolation of Israel.”

Nothing to do with fearing a UNSC resolution I guess. The precious US veto vote is in Obama’s hot lil’ hand.

Palmor said the report’s conclusions were “so disconnected with realities on ground that one cannot but wonder on which planet was the Gaza Strip they visited.”

One can only wonder if Snr Palmor has EVER been to Gaza. This next bit draws a laugh.

Shalev, a professor of law, said that Israel was committed to international law.

No one has told her that there are 223 UNSC resolutions against Israel and although the US Veto Vote has prevented action being taken, the Law still stands and Israel is still in breach of it!

More laughs

The Foreign Ministry reiterated Shalev’s stance, saying: “Israel knew it could not cooperate with the committion, due to the one-sided mandate, which ignores the thousands of rockets Hamas fired at civilians in southern Israel – that which made the offensive on Gaza necessary.”

“Israel is completely committed to acting in accordance with international law and investigate every claim of misconduct perpetrated by its forces,” add the Foreign Ministry.

They’d be the rockets the report condemns and calls war crimes! I guess no one has told the Foreign Ministry either, about those 223 UNSC resolutions against Israel.

What a bun fight….

Iran? Let’s do a comparison check…

Filed under: Iran — talknic @ 3:39 pm

Netanyahu urges tougher Iran sanctions, but EU wants to wait (From Haaretz)

Iranian stance A senior Iranian official said Iran would not negotiate on its “sovereign right” to nuclear energy but, if that were recognized, Iran was ready to discuss any issue at the talks, including ways of upholding non-proliferation globally.

Israeli stance “I believe that now is the time to start harsh sanctions against Iran – if not now then when? These harsh sanctions can be effective,” Netanyahu was quoted by a parliamentary official as telling a legislative committee.

The EU A spokeswoman for European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana confirmed on Monday that he had talked to Iranian chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili by phone and they had agreed on a meeting on October 1.

The US U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu confirmed Monday in Vienna that his country would take part in the talks as well.

“This is an important first step in the discussion and one hopes for the best,” Chu told reporters on the sidelines of the IAEA General Conference.

Seems Israel is getting further and further out of step….Are we to just not believe anything the Iranians are saying? Their stance has been consistent since the suspicions of a Nuclear Weapons program were aired. They want to only pursue Nuclear technology for peaceful purposes. The body charged by the UN with confirming peaceful intentions, the IAEA, has found nothing to the contrary. The UNSC has passed no resolution directly against Iran, only sanctions designed to entice.

Iran is being subjected to the same rhetoric as Iraq was subjected to in the lead up to the Invasion of Iraq, begun by the same people. We’re being fed the same demonizing ‘Axis of Evil’ rhetoric. Were there WMDs in Iraq? Nope. Not one. Nothing.

We’re being told by Israel that the Iranian regime is belligerent, threatening. Yet when we do a comparison check…

Has Iran driven hundreds of thousands of people out of their homes then razed them? Refused to leave illegally acquired territory? Occupied a people for 42 years? Built illegal settlements on other folk’s territory? Locked millions of people behind illegitimately claimed borders preventing their escape from a war zone, then bombed the territory? Dropped phosphorus on heavily populated areas? REGULARLY closed the borders completely sealing off the territories of another people from the world? Used fletchettes in civilian areas? Dropped millions of faulty cluster bomblettes in civilian areas? Embargoed a neighbour preventing them from re-building what Iran had bombed, while it expanded illegal settlements? Refused RoR for refugees? Acquired nukes through deception? Built a separation barrier on other folk’s territories? Does it prevent people from getting to hospitals? Build checkpoints on other folk’s soil? Violated the airspace of it’s neighbours? Created sonic booms on it’s neighbours? Do they build settlements and let the sh*t flow out across other folks farms? Bulldozed other folks orchards, homes? Does Iran call armistice lines borders? Is the UN still calling for them to leave other folk’s territories after 42 years? Has Iran exceeded it’s borders? Does Iran have 223 UNSC resolutions against it? Does Iran completely control any one else’s borders, airspace and territorial waters?

Any of the above? No? There have been accusations aplenty, from supporting terrorism to a Nuclear Weapons program. Where have they all lead? No-where much. Just to more accusations, which of course aren’t proof.

The Western media frenzy surrounding the elections was interesting. Little of what I saw was peaceful protest, from the outset it seemed incredibly destructive. Harsh laws? Indeed, however States do have a duty to protect and maintain order according to their laws when folk’re burning the streets.

“I may “reappear” on CIF, but I have seriously begun to question the utility – or futility – of trying to break out of the endless spirals on the threads with some actual facts and what I think is a reasoned POV, let alone dealing with the not-so-hidden anti-Semites the site attracts. Also the futility of occasionally injecting a little humor into the grim world the editors and moderators seem to prefer and watching the comments disappear!

CIF’s I/P threads have degenerated into a sort of horrible narcissistic meeting place for a rather small group of agenda-driven uninformed Israel-haters, contributors and commentators, who like to see themselves in print spouting their opinions, endlessly using the same “talking points” to try to paint Israel as an evil empire. The same can be said for those threads that give those who blame the US for all the world’s woes a chance to spout their hatred of America.

Perhaps I should simply watch talknic destroy the site with his endless war against banning and the repetitive nonsense that he manages to post each time till the moderators catch up with him?
Eh?

Interesting…will AKUS ‘re-appear’ after being banned. As AKUS? Will any of them re-appear as they were? Or, (trying not to be ‘recognisable’), under new abusernames after having re-registered, indulging in their silly personal attacks, blabbering on in ignorance about the Australian Aboriginals, as if they actually give a damn?

Poor lad, that’d be the ‘actual facts’ and ‘un-informed’ ‘nonsense’ AKUS was un-able refute…. or answer to. What was it? Ah yes, a map of Israel’s actual sovereign territories that included Sderot, Ashkelon. Understandably it was never supplied… the embarrassment.. Here’s a thread and conversation with AKUS, failing to either refute what was said or produce a map. .

One of the failures of The Guardian is that their moderating policy has enabled many posters to return using different monikers and only sometimes are they detected. Poor Dotty and talknic simply are so recognisable.

I’m guessing only people with an ulterior motive try to conceal who they are. And in response, to the endlessly repeated assertions and denials…..The corresponding Laws, Charters and Conventions always look the same every time they’re cited.

Hey!!! I wonder if Jubilation would like the whole nic list? I could even add silly meaningless comments to save Jubilation the bile….on second thoughts….when bile backs up….well, who’d wish that on anyone…

Rather strange they’ve not actually quoted anything… dis-appointing.

A fine example of Jubilation’s tactics can be seen HERE. When his silly accusation is shown to be false, goes on to assert that if you’re quoting someone, the words you quote are your own. A very, very interesting theory. So it goes….can’t find anything to accuse you of? No worries, just make it up!

I wonder if there’s any evidence of any talknic nic ever agreeing with Snr Milne or ‘shitting on’ anything but Israeli Government policies towards the Palestinians and the notions they themselves have put forward? Nothing like a good laugh

Wasting their time shadow boxing trying to get their opponents voices stifled, when there’s real Antisemitism on ye olde internet?
Some folk’re likely to believe the ‘cry wolf’ stuff they’re claiming is Antisemitism, is actual Antisemitism. A slippery slope to dis-empowerment that’ll lead to every granny in the street being called an Antisemite because she dared look up from her Zimmer frame.

MEANWHILE, down in settlement city, where the Israeli / US agreement on freezing settlements is on again, off again, on off on off on off, I can only wonder if the much prized gem of the US veto vote in the UNSC is making Obama’s palm sweat. What sort of a deal can be cut to keep from having to use it. No-one wants to see the bull bust up the china shop.

Today, the “Talk of deal on West Bank settlements (is) ‘premature’ ”

Tuesday another feed on Israel preparing to attack Iran, Wednesday some more agreement getting close, Thursday maybe announce some more approvals, by next Monday we’ll be back at ‘settlement agreement not close’!

What is it that some folk don’t understand about ILLEGAL?
