First, find out what isn't true…

Talknic was banned from CiF because…

ShortLink http://wp.me/PDB7k-6h

No one has explained yet! That the Guardian has not seen fit to ever explain my banning from CiF, despite numerous polite requests, is a sad reflection where Facts are supposed to be Sacred.

Break the guidelines as talknic? Not as far as I know Search for yourself

The last innocuous posts

Banned from CiF before? ‘fraid not. talknic was the first nic used on CiF.

Spam? Well, UN Documents and the Law always look the same. Even when they’re posted in answer to the same ill-informed comments one sees spammed over and over and over.

Asking apologists for Israels illegal activities the questions they dare not honestly answer ? Not against the guidelines as far as I know. Even though it gets right up their noses.

Re-registering? Yessiree ma’am…In protest at having no recourse, at being given no warning or reason, never having had any correspondence answered, at asking to be monitored by the mods, to no avail. Surely the content is more important, especially if it doesn’t break the guidelines.

MOST of my posts were censored/Never posted because of Moderator BIAS.
Including one the day before yesterday, that merely contained 4 Links (two from Google Books) to reinforce a [controversial] Peters quote that was already posted.

Here is my last post, of course, never posted.

    Talknic.
I never Claimed Israel is entitled to more At present because of those documents, or rather any more in 1948.
Tho 242 Called for a small additional/adjustment recognizing the defensive if pre-emptive nature of the 1967 War.

I was pointing out the Use of ‘Palestine’ AT the time.
    So your reply is Obtuse/Moot.

On a secondary note, I will be withdrawing from this Horrendous Blog and unfairly moderated discussion.
You all must think you ‘defeat’ the enemy every time!
    Rongu!
I invite ANYONE to debate me on Any I-P Topic on a board that isn’t completely rigged and “awaiting moderation”/Censor.
Search “abu afak Israel” etc to find me.
I would also be glad to provide email/contact info if I can find a way to do so.

I had one post (of Several) UNapproved yesterday that merely provided an additional 4 Links to reinforce a statement/quote of controversial Peters.

This posting has been copied by me and will be emailed to Philip Weiss as censored if it [TOO] is not posted.

  3. Interested parties might be amused to see my contribution to CiF watch here:

    http://cifwatch.com/2009/10/16/israelites-1-%E2%80%93-philistines-0-%E2%80%93-the-goldstone-own-goal/#comment-38393

->Can someone explain what it is that’s actually wrong with the Goldstone Report?
->For instance, at Section 9, para 50 we find:
->The Mission investigated several incidents involving the destruction of industrial infrastructure, food production, water installations, sewage treatment plants and housing (chap. XIII). Already at the beginning of the military operations, el-Bader flour mill was the only flour mill in the Gaza Strip still operating. The flour mill was hit by a series of air strikes on 9 January 2009, after several false warnings had been issued on previous days. The Mission finds that its destruction had no military justification. The nature of the strikes, in particular the precise targeting of crucial machinery, suggests that the intention was to disable the factory’s productive capacity. From the facts it ascertained, the Mission finds that there has been a violation of the grave breaches provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Unlawful and wanton destruction which is not justified by military necessity amounts to a war crime. The Mission also finds that the destruction of the mill was carried out to deny sustenance to the civilian population, which is a violation of customary international law and may constitute a war crime. The strike on the flour mill furthermore constitutes a violation of the right to adequate food and means of subsistence.
    ->Fuller details at paras 914 to 937.
->Maybe someone here should anyone explain to us all what was wrong with that part of the report.
->Or are we to understand that International Law should be changed to make attacks on food production legal? Netanyahu told the Knesset he wants changes – are we agreed that civilians can be made to starve as happened in the Warsaw Ghetto?

What do people think – could I be subject to an instant ban on the basis of a single post? William

    • Very likely you’ll be banned if they find you here…. I have no right of reply to their false accusations on their site, despite the noble notion on their banner.

They’re pathetic. Attacking criticism of Israel, not antisemitism where it actually DOES exist. Even more pathetic when one of their number Chas N-B, writes for CiF in a manner that, were his rants about Jewish folk rather than Arabs and Muslims, it would most assuredly be blatant Antisemitism.

      • They’re racists, and perhaps most significantly they hate the Jews themselves and want there to be a lot more hatred of the Jews. That’s the real and most darkest reason for their behaviour. William

        Comment by William Smart — December 30, 2010 @ 8:24 pm

      • Talknic – perhaps you should be a bit more vociferous in your objection to what these kind of people are doing – they would seem to relish the incitement of antisemitism.

That’s on top of the absurdity of people claiming to object to antisemitism when they see nothing wrong with Islamophobia, and gleefully themselves with Islamophobes. The anti-Zionists repudiated Israel Shamir as soon as they detected his racism – why are the Zionists so totally lacking in any and all such decency?

        • CiFwhatsit are idiotic. Some folk just need a club/tribe/sense of belonging and importance and power. The internet has given what they probably can’t get out of real live situations without getting a smack in the mouth.

          • Talknic – What I find REALLY interesting is the discussion pages here (Don’t let it spoil your day)

Not quite sure what you’re refering to – there have been important points raised eg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Borders_of_Israel#The_planned_Eretz_Israel over 2 years ago, dismissed by the hasbarists and allowed to drop. I think that was before the scandal of the Judea and Samaria ruling.

            Comment by William Smart — January 1, 2011 @ 3:19 am

            • “Not quite sure what you’re refering to..”

In terms of spoiling your day…their determination to justify twaddle that has been dissed countless times…even by the documents they cite .

What hits the page after their discussion though, is riddled with the same olde same olde. Justification. The dialogue is how to justify.

E.g., http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borders_of_Israel the first three paragraphs of the lead article are classic Hasbara

“Israel’s borders are the borders of the State of Israel. The borders have changed from time to time with developments in Israel’s military and diplomatic situation. It borders Lebanon in the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan and the West Bank in the east, the Gaza Strip and Egypt on the southwest

The border with Egypt was demarcated in 1906 between Britain and the Ottoman Empire. The borders with Lebanon, Syria and Jordan are based on those drawn up by the United Kingdom and France in anticipation of the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in the First World War and the carve up of the Ottoman Empire between them. They are referred to as the 1923 borders, being those of Mandate Palestine, which were settled in 1923.

Israel’s borders with Egypt and Jordan have now been formally recognised as part of the peace treaties with those countries, and with Lebanon as part of the 1949 Armistice Agreement. The borders with Syria and the Palestinian territories are still in dispute. Israel’s borders with the West Bank and Gaza Strip are currently the Green Line, except in East Jerusalem, and its border with Syria runs along the UN-monitored boundary between the Golan Heights and Syrian sovereign territory.”

Actually the Armistice lines have changed from time to time. Borders can only change through legal annexation. Armistice lines are not borders unless they were borders before the armistice. The 1949 Lebanon / Israel Armistice agreement did not change any borders. Article V 1. says “The Armistice Demarcation Line shall follow the international boundary between Lebanon and Palestine.” It does not say Israel. Israel was declared independent of Palestine. What was left of Palestine has not had a name change. The borders between Palestine and Syria have never been in dispute. The Green line is an Armistice line. It doesn’t delineate borders. It’s a line over which opposing forces may not cross. The Golan is of course Sovereign to Syria.

Every article on the page is the same, riddled with twaddle

How does one counter it? Some folk have tried in discussion, it is simply ignored. Check your mail..

  4. Hi Carmel.

I didn’t follow figliomedio so am not familiar.

Yes CiF has become a farce. How the abusers http://wp.me/pDB7k-h3 can keep posting amazes me. That they mostly subscribe to CiFWatch makes me think CiF moderation has been compromised.

It WAS a good sounding board now it’s the same olde same olde. Denial, obfuscation, lies and false accusations. It’s the same wherever the Ziofiers appear. The all have the same arguments, around and around.

I drop in every now and then, but am immediately and totally purged, especially during certain hours.

    There are other avenues..

    Take care.

  5. Hello talknic – sorry to see you were banned. I, for one, enjoyed your posts and learnt much from them. Agree that Cif has become a wasteland of the bland and blander. Even Seth’s columns no longer generate the heated – and sometimes interesting exchanges it used to. I keep some of the old columns – from about 2-3 years ago- which have seen some of the best ever debates I’ve noted from anywhere on the I/P topic – those were the days! there were fantastic posters, like one called figliomedio (who I believe was an orthodox non-zionist jewish person), the incomparable lenny stone (who’s alas no longer with us), Guiteau, Repunzal and many others. I posted now and then (under the moniker merlin2), mostly opinion, but can’t say I’ve done anything near the amount of worthy work others have. Unfortunately, patience not being my forte, I sort of lost interest in Cif as a venue to post in (or read) when three of my posts were deleted – in the space of 1 week – didn’t take lightly to that either. Wrote a long letter to georgina henry (at the time she was the right person). Got no response so I’ve been sulking to this day. berchmans managed to tell me the score before being deleted, which was funny. Some columns had more deletions than posts – and that made for a poor read. But I did notice your valiant efforts and was duly envious of your staying power.

It is truly disconcerting to see what has become of a great sounding board. We all know why, of course – just as you say. it was simply a case of the losing side in the argument trying to banish the forum for argument. It’s a bloody shame to see them go after every good poster. I understand that Seth doesn’t get his columns published as often either (he wrote a book on the settlers that’s coming out, no?)

Hope to see you return in whatever guise you choose.

PS if anyone knows where did figliomedio disappear to, I’d appreciate knowing. This was one heck of an erudite poster – and very knowledgeable about halacha and law (he once mentioned to me he used to be a lawyer). I’d urge people to look back in the file at the body of his comments and conversations with other excellent and not-so-excellent posters. Just his take-down of the ever-morphing avihu/shactman/….are worth the read. Nowadays he would surely be banned.

By the by, because of my username on CIF (which is the same as the one here) I can’t participate in the Talkboards because apparently my name might cause offence! I’ve given up participating in CIF too. The amount of sheer ignorance and propaganda is just depressing!

    Take care. x

  10. Hi Paul,

Gawks. What was once a place for informed and erudite discussion has turned into Bland Land populated by the same olde same olde re-iterating the same olde fallacies. It’s screwed, predictably.

Never the less it enabled the testing of some of the argument presented here. It was my purpose in posting on CiF in the first place. To explore and hone informed, valid responses to the absolute shite that’s been propagated over the last 61 years and more.

The Greater Israel supporters are either completely ignorant or purposefully ignoring anything that might shine a light on the ghastly propaganda they perpetuate. If it’s the former, one wonders how they ever learned to breath out as well as in. If it’s the latter, it is typical of propaganda meisters 101.

I’d often wondered, as the I/P issue heated up, how CiF would keep from being infiltrated, the Guardian being such a large organization. Can’t help but feel it has now. Infiltrated and bashed into submission by a relentless campaign.

Interesting to note ‘chaznb’ of CiFWatch is none other than one Chas Burden, CiF contributor and supporter of Israel’s ghastly policies. Such is their duplicity and hypocrisy and that’s just small time players on Ye Olde internet.

I know from first hand experience, supporters of a Greater Israel will do anything, no matter how low or against the principals of Judaism. How they’ve suddenly turn on Netinyahu shows how vile they can be. Completely without scruples. Very, very nasty and they’ll stop at nothing.

So it goes. We plod along. I’d appreciate anything you uncover…

    Take care

  12. Hi there,

Hundreds of times, presumably because of being banned for some as yet un-explained reason. No correspondence to the Guardian has ever been answered.

Responding to the invalid points Prof Alderman & Co spam is considered spam? They raised the points!

Dissing their lies with common sense, a little maths and the documents they cite, is considered “utterly irrelevant and doesn’t make for any meaningful debate about current issues.” So Petra Marquardt-Bigman has the audacity to counter with 520 words accusing me of clogging the thread with irrelevant material, for responding to what they brought into the conversation. Suddenly not worthy of comment. Weird!

Oddly enough, conversation with other posters is not reported. Only when it comes to challenging the PetraMB crowd to answer a few simple questions. They can’t, it would show them for what they are and the propaganda for what it is. So they work to have me banned. A concerted effort it seems, by their own toilet humour admission.

So, I plod along, gathering material in order to show just what a web of deceit has been woven around the issue and despite several invitations to come here and debate without moderation, they have failed to accept. In fact they don’t even allow the posts to appear on the Olive Branch, CiFWatch, where “The voice of opponents no less than that of friends has a right to be heard” It’s quite laughable.

Even weirder is that CiFWatch have never actually quoted Talknic not even on their list of alleged Anti-semites. In fact there’s nothing anywhere on the net showing why I might have been ostracized, merely un-substantiated accusations, no quotes, nada!
