The Hasbara – World’s worst propaganda – photoshopping the evidence from Mavi Marmara

The Hasbara – World’s worst propaganda – photoshopping the evidence from Mavi Marmara?

Ships are a part of the territory of the state under whose flag they sail.

Basically, if there is a Master at Arms, the Captain must decide if the integrity of territory of the state is under threat, at which point armed resistance is warranted. If there is no Master at Arms on a ship, arms are expressly forbidden. Tools of trade such as knives, blades and equipment for ships maintenance and normal running of a galley are not arms.

You decide

Original from Haaretz

Enlargement of the dagger. Notice the mashed thumb, the gap between the blade and handle and the perspective of the blade, which is not correct for the position of his hand or the handle.

Note the shape of the blade

This pic is gamma corrected (lightened). Notice the shadows

A Jambiya does not have a gap between blade and handle

Here is the guy in question, with his ceremonial dagger

Here is his ceremonial dagger in the pile of ‘weapons’ found by the IDF

The only ‘weapon’ one would not normally find on a ship the size of the Mavi Mamara, is the ceremonial dagger. There are spare handles (shaped) for sledge hammers or fire axes, an assortment of cooking knives and a few pocket knives that every sailor carries. A screw driver? Other pics of weapons show iron bars etc. In fact, nothing unusual for an engineers’ workshop on a ship the size of the Mavi Mamara.

Notice the shape of the blade. Note especially – THERE IS NO GAP between blade and handle

He’s sitting. Why would and how could anyone attack the IDF while sitting? And why wasn’t he shot if he was attacking the IDF? And why are people standing in the background smiling, clapping?

The raid took place in the early morning at 4:30 IST.

  1. Hi Talknic, I know it’s not you. Some technical problem with this site. I tried 3 times. damn it!!!

Anyway, I will make it brief. I think it has character limit. The man is not wearing life vests, protective vests, gas masks as alleged by IDF when they board the ship. :-)

Also, the whole clash lasted for less than 1 hour as admitted by IDF testimony. 4: 30 + 1 hour -> 5: 30 AM – Sun do not rise. but the sun is shining. :-)

    • BTW, About the life vest in previous post, When asked the IDF, how do you determine the civilians from terrorists,

he replied “There was no problem identifying them. The terrorists wore orange life vests, protective vests, and gas masks. All of them were equipped with cold arms. This is not what innocent peace activists look like.”

    • There’s no limit set from my side.

I don’t believe ANYTHING said by Israel or the IDF or anyone who supports a Greater Israel unless I can check it out myself and; almost everything I have checked out, has been shown to be propaganda

  2. My post didn’t show up. Strange. I had some interesting questions.

    • There’s two questions answered to an anonymous and I’ve not blocked anything. Re-post if you still want answers

  3. Thanks Talknic for the explanations,

    Two questions:

I – In your video, 0:38 you said “stutter from the drag of cloning tool”. How did you know?

II – The man seems to be holding something. If it isn’t knife then what it is?

    • 1) I do a lot of computer graphics. It’s rather obvious to spot when you’ve had the same problem with incorrect settings.

      2) Whatever was in his hand, if anything, has been manipulated really poorly! It might have been his ceremonial knife. Whatever, they botched it!

  4. Astonishing – is that clip on YouTube? Or is it available as a series of stills, as would show up better on my web-page?

Also, do you have a location where the doctored photograph is on the web, either from the Zionists or from one of their critics?

    • Talknic – you may have been scammed on this one.

Far from being a new story, it’s actually old and has been ignored by everyone. It supposedly came out no more than 17 days after the event (eg http://something-stinks.com/Daily%20Dish/Mavi/knife_photoshop.htm on Jun17.2010).

And I think I can see why it’s ignored, that’s because it’s faulty, indeed fraudulent. If the knife had been photo-shopped into the extremists hand, it’d not be transparent and show the background. There’d not be a gap between the blade and the hasp.

Furthermore, there are other photographers in the background, so if there’d not been a knife, there would be pictures of the guy without it, and journos insisting they’d never seen it.

Sorry, good try but this one is a dummy.

      • Hi William,

I’ve updated the post I guess as you were writing.

I don’t publish anything until I’ve done a very thorough check

I realize it’s not new and the photo I used in the lil’ video is not from something-stinks.com. I took it directly from Haaretz

The photographers in the back ground are behind the guy with the knife and their cameras are not aimed at him.
I’ve done graphics for years and had the same problem when the clone, push or smudge tool doesn’t have the right settings – example

        • I still think you’re making a mistake. Israel does photo-shop pictures – they’ve twice made-up pictures of the USS Liberty and distributed them as “gun-camera” pictures. The one in from the 1982 IDF history report is the wrong ship entirely. Israel fraudulently tampered with audio from the radio of the Mavi Marmara.

However, it’s much less obvious what’s happened here. Either the swarthy character may have managed to smuggle that knife on board (despite the strongest wishes of all the other passengers) or – perhaps more likely – Israel has pulled a different fraud, the picture was not taken while they were sailing, perhaps not even on the same ship.

What do the other passengers say about this? Has anyone asked Terence O’Keefe? Do we know who it is with the knife, was he even on board the ship? Who are the people behind him?
